Heat Soaked Glass

Overview

Heat Soaked Glass is a specially treated tempered glass that undergoes an additional heat soak test to detect and eliminate the risk of spontaneous breakage due to nickel sulphide (NiS) inclusions. During this process, tempered glass is placed in a heat soak oven and exposed to elevated temperatures (approximately 290°C) for several hours. Faulty glass containing NiS inclusions will fracture under this controlled environment—ensuring only stable, safe glass moves forward to final use.

This makes Heat Soaked Glass ideal for high-rise buildings, structural glazing, skylights, and all critical safety applications where spontaneous breakage would be hazardous.
